Please note:
- A valid photo ID is required at check-in

We recommend checking your confirmation email before travel to confirm departure times and details

If you have any questions before you travel, our team is always happy to assist.
Getting there on time
It is essential that all customers arrive at the airport with enough time to check-in before their flight.
Please note that photo identification will be required at check in, you do not need your e-ticket to check in.
Remember to check your e-ticket for check-in and departures times.
Full terms and conditions regarding your e-ticket can be found in the terms and conditions page
Arriving at the airport
We recommend arriving at the airport at least 60 minutes before departure. Regional airports are generally easy to navigate, but allowing a little extra time ensures a relaxed start to your journey.
Check-in typically closes 30 minutes prior to departure, after which boarding preparations begin.
If you’re unsure about arrival times or have specific requirements, our team is always happy to assist.
Check-in and boarding
Check-in at Sharp Airlines is simple and personal. Our staff will assist you with baggage, confirm your details, and answer any questions you may have before boarding.
Boarding usually takes place close to departure time and is guided by our ground crew. Due to the size and layout of regional aircraft, boarding is often via stairs directly to the aircraft.
We ask passengers to listen carefully to staff instructions, as procedures may vary slightly depending on the airport and weather conditions.
Regional airports - what to expect
Each airport we operate from is different, but most share a similar regional experience:
- Smaller terminals and shorter walking distances
- Limited or no security screening compared to major airports
- Outdoor boarding areas at some locations
- A more personal interaction with staff
Facilities such as cafés, seating, and restrooms vary by airport. Where facilities are limited, our focus is on keeping processes efficient and comfortable.
Weather and operational conditions
Regional aviation is more directly affected by weather and operational conditions. On occasion, this may influence departure times,
baggage carriage, or boarding processes.
If conditions require changes, our team will communicate clearly and keep you informed. Safety always comes first, and decisions are made with care and experience.
Please note that photo identification will be required at check in, you do not need your e-ticket to check in.
Remember to check your e-ticket for check-in and departures times.
Full terms and conditions regarding your e-ticket can be found in the terms and conditions page
Accessibility and assistance at the airport
If you require assistance at the airport, including mobility support, additional time, or help with boarding, please let us know when booking or prior to travel.
Our crews are experienced in supporting a wide range of needs and will do their best to ensure your journey is comfortable and respectful.
Before you fly
Before heading to the airport, we recommend:
- Checking your booking details
- Reviewing baggage allowances
- Allowing extra time if travelling with special items, pets, or assistance needs
If you have any questions or are unsure about what to expect, contacting our team ahead of time can help avoid uncertainty on the day.

Medical conditions
Travelling with a medical condition can feel uncertain. Our role is to make sure your journey is safe, considered, and as smooth as possible — for you, and for everyone on board.
Sharp Airlines regularly assists passengers with a wide range of medical needs. In most cases, flying with us is straightforward.
Occasionally, a little extra planning is required to ensure we can support you properly on the day of travel.
If you have a medical condition, we ask that bookings are made through our Reservations team rather than online. This allows us to understand your needs, answer questions clearly, and make sure the right arrangements are in place before you arrive at the airport.
In some situations, we may request a Medical Certificate of Fitness to Travel completed by your treating doctor. This is not required for every passenger, but may be requested if you:
- Have an unstable medical or mental health condition
- Are recovering from a recent illness or infectious disease
- Have been discharged from hospital within the previous 24 hours
- Require oxygen during flight
If a medical certificate is needed, our team will guide you through the process and explain exactly what is required. The completed form must be returned to our Reservations team prior to travel so it can be reviewed in advance.
Where there is any uncertainty about a passenger’s suitability to travel, Sharp Airlines may consult directly with the recommending medical practitioner. This ensures decisions are made carefully, professionally, and always with safety as the priority.
Our approach is simple: we aim to support travel wherever possible, while making sure it is done safely and responsibly. If you have any concerns, we encourage you to speak with our Reservations team early — we are here to help you plan with confidence.
Traveling during pregnancy
We understand that every pregnancy is different. Our approach is designed to support safe, comfortable travel while recognising individual circumstances.
For passengers experiencing a normal, uncomplicated pregnancy, and where there is no indication of an impending birth, medical clearance is not required in the early stages of pregnancy.
If a pregnancy is complicated, or involves multiple births, medical clearance is required before travel.
Travel after 28 weeks
From 28 weeks onwards, passengers are required to carry a letter or certificate from a registered medical practitioner or registered midwife confirming:
- the estimated due date
- whether the pregnancy is single or multiple
- that the pregnancy is routine and without complications
This documentation must be available on request and carried with you at the airport and during the flight.
If there are any complications associated with the pregnancy, a Medical Certificate of Fitness to Travel is required regardless of gestation.
Short flights and gestation limits
For routine, uncomplicated pregnancies, travel is permitted up to the end of the 36th week of pregnancy.
If you are unsure whether travel is appropriate for your stage of pregnancy, we encourage you to speak with your medical practitioner before booking.
After delivery
If you are travelling within 7 days of delivery, a Medical Certificate is required.
For infants:
- newborns are not permitted to travel within 48 hours of birth
- medical clearance is required for infants travelling between 3 and 7 days after birth
Our approach
Our goal is not to place unnecessary barriers around travel, but to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both parent and child. If there is any uncertainty, our Reservations team is available to talk through your situation and guide you through the next steps.
Family travel
Travelling with young children is a different kind of journey. It comes with extra questions, extra planning — and sometimes a little extra stress. At Sharp, we understand that, and we aim to make family travel feel calm, simple, and well supported.
We regularly welcome families on board, including those travelling with infants and young children. Our crews are experienced, our aircraft are equipped for infant travel, and our processes are designed to keep things clear and predictable from check-in to arrival.
Travelling with an infant or young child
Infants under 24 months of age travel safely and comfortably when seated in the arms of a parent or guardian. Infants who do not occupy their own seat travel free of charge, however an individual e-ticket is still required for each infant.
For safety reasons, each infant must be accompanied by a separate adult. Approved infant restraint belts are available on all aircraft and must be worn during take-off, landing, turbulence, and whenever the seatbelt sign is illuminated, or crew advise.
At check-in, we ask families travelling with infants or children to provide proof of the child’s date of birth. This may include a passport, birth certificate, or immunisation record.
Our team understands that travelling with children rarely goes exactly to plan. If you have questions, need reassurance, or would like to discuss your circumstances before travel, our Reservations team is always happy to help.
Our goal is simple: to ensure families feel welcomed, informed, and supported — so you can focus on the journey ahead.
Travelling as an unaccompanied minor
Entrusting your child to travel on their own is a significant decision. At Sharp Airlines, we take that responsibility seriously and approach unaccompanied minor travel with care, structure, and clear processes at every step.
Children aged 5 to 12 years (inclusive) who are travelling without the supervision of a parent or legal guardian are classified as Unaccompanied Minors.
For safety reasons, bookings for unaccompanied minors cannot be made online. All arrangements must be made through our Reservations team, who will guide you through the process and ensure everything is in place before travel.
Please note that children under the age of 5 are not permitted to travel unaccompanied on Sharp flights.
Booking and preparation
When making a booking, the parent or nominated guardian will be required to complete an Unaccompanied Minor Form. This form captures important information about the child, the responsible adults at departure and arrival, and emergency contact details.
Once completed, the form must be returned to our Reservations team prior to travel so it can be reviewed and confirmed in advance.
At the airport
Unaccompanied minors must arrive at the Sharp Airlines terminal at least 60 minutes prior to departure. This allows sufficient time for check-in, documentation checks, and a calm handover process.
At check-in, the parent or guardian delivering the child will be asked to present photo identification. This will be verified against the details provided on the Unaccompanied Minor Form.
Our ground staff will ensure the child is comfortable and prepared before boarding.
During the flight
Unaccompanied minors are supervised by Sharp Airlines crew from boarding through to arrival. While our aircraft do not carry a dedicated flight attendant, our crews are experienced in supporting young travellers and will keep a close watch throughout the journey.
Children travelling unaccompanied must be able to:
- sit upright unaided in their allocated seat
- fasten and wear the seatbelt correctly for the duration of the flight
On arrival
At the destination, the child will be handed over only to the nominated receiving adult listed on the Unaccompanied Minor Form. Photo identification will be checked before the child is released.
This ensures a secure and controlled transfer of responsibility.
A few helpful notes
We encourage children to bring a favourite toy or comfort item to help them feel settled during the flight. Explaining the journey to them ahead of time — including who will be looking after them and who will meet them on arrival — can also help them feel more confident and at ease.
Please note that Sharp Airlines aircraft do not have onboard toilet facilities. We recommend ensuring the child has used airport amenities prior to boarding.
Special Assistance
Everyone’s journey is different. At Sharp, we aim to make travel as comfortable and straightforward as possible for passengers who require additional assistance.
We have many years of experience supporting passengers with a wide range of needs, and we encourage you to let us know how we can help. The earlier we understand your requirements, the better we can prepare.
Letting us know your needs
If you require special assistance, please contact our Reservations team as early as possible. This allows us to plan appropriately and ensure the right support is available on the day of travel.
Some assistance services must be arranged in advance. If requirements are not advised ahead of time, assistance may be limited or unavailable on arrival at the airport.
Travelling with a wheelchair
If you require a wheelchair or mobility assistance, please contact Reservations at least five days prior to departure.
When speaking with our team, we may ask a few simple questions to understand the level of assistance required, such as:
- Are you able to board the aircraft steps independently?
- Do you require assistance during boarding?
- Do you need a wheelchair to travel from the terminal to the aircraft?
- Will you be travelling with your own wheelchair?
Passengers travelling with their own wheelchair may have it carried free of charge, in addition to their normal baggage allowance. While we always endeavour to accommodate requests, carriage is subject to aircraft limitations and local handling arrangements.
Boarding and disembarkation
Passengers requiring assistance may be boarded before other passengers and disembark after arrival to allow our crew adequate time to assist safely.
To ensure assistance can be provided as planned, passengers are asked to check in at least 60 minutes prior to departure. If you are not at the departure gate at the designated time, we may be unable to provide assistance and you may be rebooked onto the next available service.
Airport facilities
Lifts are not available at all airports. Lift access is currently available at the following locations:
Melbourne (Essendon)
King Island
Flinders Island
Burnie (Wynyard)
Launceston
Facilities can vary by location. We recommend confirming your requirements with our Reservations team prior to travel so we can advise what support is available at your departure and arrival ports.
Our approach
Our focus is simple: to ensure your journey is safe, respectful, and as comfortable as possible. If you are unsure whether assistance is required, or what support might be available, we encourage you to contact our team — we’re here to help.
